SWEET mail and the loooooongest week ever!

Remember what it was like getting mail when you were a kid? It made you feel so grown up and special didn't it? It's sad to think that our kids won't get to experience that as much as we might have because of these dang/wonderful computers. *Snail mail* is becoming obsolete.
Well, my friend Jill sent the girls some of her Best Dang Cookies In the World and they were so excited! Um, not just mail...but COOKIES! Can it GET any better than THIS?!?

They were SOOO good (the girls are obviously entranced by the kid trivia show they were watching) and WOW sooo HEAVY! They reminded me of those cookies that you get when you're in Disney World. They make you drool just looking at them, and then you pick them up and think, "Holy cripe...I'm going to gain THIS much weight...right now!" So worth it. Yuuuuum!

My Week In the Life photos.
I have learned a lesson.
DON'T get that many photos printed next time.
Just. Don't.
I sure can streeeeeetch out a week can't I?

My days have been filled with cutting and punching (which I love) but I have once again overwhelmed myself. I'm going to do what I can, when I can...as soon as the printer feels like cooperating again. (insert crazy lady laugh here) It really is fun looking over the photos, at these little pieces of my everyday life. I ADORE this project. The project thus far has made me look at my days a little differently. The routine yes, but more importantly, the moments. Can't wait to really get on a roll putting it together. I'll get there. : )

We spent a fun afternoon with some out of town family today and had a really fun time watching all of the kiddos playing together. Mallory came to me at one point, looked up...and I saw it. Her beautiful, big brown and PINK eye.
Did I mention that ALL of the kiddos were playing together so nicely? I did?
Did I also mention that the out-of-towners had JUST arrived for their week long vacation?
I'm praying that the owner of this cute little foot didn't infect ALL of her cousins today. Ugh.

Mallory's headboard is missing because I was sanding it Saturday...and it's a doozie. Mal wants it to be green which is fine with me, but I'm having a heck of a time finding the right green. THE green. I'm thinking about doing a little mixing experiment to see if I can come up with it myself. I did see something close at Lowe's the other day (and trust me, it's not as bright as it looks) that I might go with (although I'm not nuts about how shiny it would be). The headboard has a few details that I'm not sure I'll be able to paint as well with a brush, so this option is looking better every time I think about it!

Saw this the other day and loved it!:

“To me, there are three things we all should do every day. We should do this every day of our lives. Number one is laugh. You should laugh every day. Number two is think. You should spend some time in thought. And number three is, you should have your emotions moved to tears, could be happiness or joy. But think about it. If you laugh, you think, and you cry, that's a full day. That's a heck of a day. You do that seven days a week, you're going to have something special.”

I'm losing it...

I'm kind of in a holding pattern with Week In the Life. I'm waiting on photos to be printed and common sense would say to go ahead and start journaling, etc. but I'm one of those people...I HAVE to have it all in front of me first. I truly am excited for it to all come together, but I've got to have those photos first!

I won't get into how awful it feels waiting for this oil slick to lap up on our beaches so I'll post something funny I saw when Mal and I were enjoying the scenery yesterday. It was sad being out there but somehow I found something ridiculous to laugh about.

I'm so lonely, I need a man. A REAL man.

I know there's one out there...somewhere.

Ooooo...he's cute.

Well, hello there.

Um hello?... Ugh...nevermind.

All men are alike. They bore me *yawn*

What were you just looking at?

What were you looking at hu? Can't even look me in the eye can you?

Jerk.

Want another look? Hu? Do you? Yes they are real...and they're FABULOUS!

Yep, they're all the same...

I have officially lost it.

Oh, my Week In the Life...

STILL working on Week In the Life.
Getting these photos together and edited is harder than I thought. I'm sure I've chosen WAY too many but I can't help it. They all tell the story : )

Week In the Life Fri~Sun

I'm starting to think I REALLY should have started Week In the Life earlier than I did. Most certainly NOT a typical week in our house.

-Friday-

Oh yes, more Toaster Strudel art. Do you think she got the hint and moved a little faster?
Nope.

Daddy got to walk Mal into school Friday morning. She was excited!

Most important items to pack for the girls.

I LOVE listening to the IPod on long car trips. I do NOT love the ridiculous gizmo we bought to listen to the IPod on long car trips. We both came close to throwing that adapter onto the interstate.

After dinner at our destination, we got to sit around the fire and chat with our friends.
SO nice after the long drive.

-Saturday-

9:30am...time to start tailgating of course.

Saw LOTS of interesting things as usual...this being one of the more tame sights.

Uncle Jimmy played one of the songs about OUR city! We were SO excited (it's a rather obscure song) to hear it and even more excited to see our fishing pier in the background!

The floorboard of the car on the ride from the show.
All of those things came off of a guy by the way...

-Sunday-

It occurred to me on the drive home that, this weekend, our Jimmy Buffett weekend, is the ONLY time you'll ever catch me with just one pair of mangy flip flops.

The wildflowers lining the interstate on the way there and back were GORGEOUS!

Beautiful tree on one of our driving breaks.

I thought this looked like a brushstroke God might make.

A sure sign we'll be home soon...

The best signs that we ARE home...

Time to start choosing and editing photos. SO many photos to narrow down. My goal is to keep it simple... something I'm not very good at, BUT I am going to try.

Have a wonderful Wednesday!

Week In the Life ~ Wed & Thurs

Ali Edwards' A Week In the Life project

A quickie from Wednesday and Thursday:
Why a magnifying glass you ask?
Mallory said (with a very "DUH!" look on her face and tone of voice), "Because that's what SPIES use..."

Apparently spies can't eat an apple whole (like they like to do sometimes) and need to have peanut butter put on "Two pieces that are the same."

She always gets tired right after breakfast...

Yippee!
No crying today!

Quiet house and coffee... : )

Annie likes to pick up Mal sometimes too...

Delaney is having to do more and more homework on the computer.

Thursday

The princess and the pedicure...

If you dare sit on the floor, you get a face full of Annie. She is the sweetest and LOVES to get her chest scratched.

Before nap, Mal has to get her bits and pieces lined up on her nightstand. Believe it or not, she never touches them until she wakes up.

That darn Mulberry tree is just laughing its bum off knowing the fun it's about to bring.

NO homework tonight so we get to spend more time than usual outside. Delaney likes to doodle all over the clubhouse with chalk. Hey, Why not?

It was a glorious day outside...Until the girls started fighting and I got tee-teed on by a bird.

I'm thinking I should have started two days earlier just so I could record a typical week. From tomorrow through Sunday, our lives will NOT be typical. I hope somehow it all fits together.

Have a fabulous Friday!
