Ahhh...fall

Ahh...fall.
Pumpkin patch visit - wonderful.

Rolling in a bin of corn - silly

Running, running, running in fresh country air - exhilarating

Sliding and getting super dirty - goes without saying...FUN

Discovering - awesome

Being squirmy during the hay ride - bad idea

Pointing out your pumpkin - good idea

Pretending to point out your pumpkin to amuse your mother - also a good idea

Feeling the effect of rolling around in hay and corn - uncomfortable

Attempting to dig roughage out of your drawers - awkward

Trying to smile with hay and corn in your skivvies - priceless

One of my favorite projects and a funny blog!

I had been looking for something fun to hang in Mallory's room for a while and I was so excited when I ran across the perfect little *happy* for the job. I'm aggravated at myself for not taking photos along the way with this project, but sometimes I just get so excited and just START!

On our trip to Colorado, my Aunt took my Mom and I to some GREAT antique shops where I found this fun Betsy McCall paper doll page. There were TONS to choose from but since Betsy was having her picture taken, I knew this one was the one : )

Framing it was going to be tricky since it was an awkward size torn from a magazine, so I had to improvise.
One thing I have a super hard time with is paying a fortune for framing. It is INSANE how much people charge for framing and well, I just won't do it. I found a 16x20 frame that had been pretty beat up and was on sale for $6...and yes, way too big. I found a banged up mat that was 20x24 with an 11x14 opening on sale for $1. Great price but both the outer edge and inner cut out were too big also. I cut the outer edge of the mat so the mat would fit into the frame and saved those outer scraps. I bought some fabric, cut it to fit the mat and adhered it with Mod Podge. I wrapped the scraps I cut from the outer edge with the fabric and adhered them to the mat along the mat opening, making the opening smaller to fit the page (I added some felt ric rac on top of that because it makes me smile)...JUST what I needed.

The frame was a little beat up so I just went with it and sanded it a little bit around the edges.
Little Betsy hangs over Mallory's bed and I just love her. I love that she cost about $13 all together too!

I finally got my plate wall painted today and I'm kind of worried about how much all of those plate holders will cost...I need about 34. Oooops : /

**My SUPER HILARIOUS friend Jill started a blog and you should SO go and check it out. She always has great stories and finds funny in everything, everywhere...my kind of gal!!! You have to go check out her toilet bowl art...she is a HOOT!**

Happy Thursday! : )

Ok, I know I'm skipping ahead here...but I just couldn't help it.
I was looking through some old pics. tonight and started to realize that my best friend Kelly shows up in about 75% of my childhood photos.
True.
We were peas and carrots. : )
I just HAD to have a little fun with some of them...

(I ALWAYS got Kel's hand-me-downs)

Good Lordy that was SO fun!

Does anyone remember that Girl Scout friendship song?

Ridiculousness

This is going to be the shortest, dumbest post ever. I was in Hobby Lobby yesterday and overheard quite an intelligent conversation...

In the front of the store, right when you walk in there is a display. Part of said display includes this cutie tootie little "some assembly required" greenhouse~it's about 4ft high X 3.5ft wide X 2.5ft deep. There is a young, college-ish looking couple who seem pretty interested in the thing...measuring, guestimating, talking about whether or not it would fit on the balcony of their apartment, and my favorite.......trying to figure out whether they could fit all of their DOOBIE plants inside. Not kidding. They started chatting about the opacity of the thing and whether or not the nosey lady next apt. over would notice........and I'm standing RIGHT THERE. Soooo I faked a loud phone call to my Hubby, the (not even close) undercover narcotics dude to ask, "Hi Honey...how are things down in narcotics today?...Wow, another bust...you guys are on fire lately! Hey,... doesn't that make you one bust away from that ginormous bonus?" Ok, so I didn't call...but it would have been d*mn funny.

Hu....where the did that come from?
David Cook...leave me the h*ll alone already.
