If you give a kid a camera...

That face...

She took 52 photos of the new doll, Maggie...
That Maggie is a good smiler.

If I could change 1 thing the 10yr old does, it would be this pose.
(Well, she tends to talk with her mouth full and slouch but whatever)
So funny-she is positively perfect in every way : )

"Mommy look, my toes look like thumbs."
-Mallory, 5yrs old

Summer is almost upon us..
Are you ready?

Holy cripe...it was a BEAUTIFUL weekend!
The in-laws picked up the girls and I (along with some cousins) and we headed out to the country for the annual Peanut Festival. Wow...I just love every bit of it!

We were surrounded by cotton fields out there.

Isn't this adorable? I want it.

So much going on in this photo. See the little guy sitting in the tub (complete with water pump)? The little guy on the dumpster was running and jumping from dumpster to dumpster (there were 5 dumpsters and they were about FIVE feet apart! yikes!) Oh yes, please don't miss the chimney and the toilet there on the ground. Geez, all they need now is a cooler and they're set. (I'm pretty sure there was one there somewhere ; )

The kiddos got to see all sorts of chickens, roosters, piglets, goats, rabbits, etc...

That child would have run out there with those cows in a heartbeat.
(...and not looked where she was going and most likely would have fallen into a steaming pile of cow yum)

My girls love wide open spaces... (just like their mama : )

There are always a ton of tractors for the kiddos to climb and play on.

Mallory hasn't stopped talking about seeing her 1st queen bee!

Most adorable ice cream TROLLEY ever : )

I will love this photo forever.
Nothing like a nice cool breeze and the warm sunshine on your face...especially that face.
I want my girls to have a healthy dose of that every day.
This is joy. This is what life is about. This is what we all need more of.
Simple, free pleasures are ours for the taking.

Go grab them while you can.

Catching up and a kick in the arse...

Oh Goodness...What in the world happens to me sometimes? Nooo clue. None. Nada.
ANYWAY...
.
This is what happens when you start talking on the phone and the 4yr old is painting:

This is what my baby looks like on her 1st day of K4...*sigh*

This is what my girls look like when they make their Daddy smile very very big:

This is the fruit that is OBVIOUSLY hanging on MY side of the fence. Isn't it? It is right? That makes it mine doesn't it?
Yes. I do believe it does.
I WILL eat that...that.......that whatever it is, and I WILL enjoy it.

This is the tiny patch of moss that shows up in my backyard this time every year:

Is it silly that that teeny patch of moss makes me smile? Yep.
I am so ready for fall y'all...SO ready!
I've come across some really inspiring things lately...

She kinda kicked my arse...and I needed it.
If I could tattoo that somewhere on my body I would. No I wouldn't...but it IS great.

I LOVE me a good inspirational kick in the pants*!*

I'm going to be back more often. Seriously.
Have a great one*!*

I'm losing it...

I'm kind of in a holding pattern with Week In the Life. I'm waiting on photos to be printed and common sense would say to go ahead and start journaling, etc. but I'm one of those people...I HAVE to have it all in front of me first. I truly am excited for it to all come together, but I've got to have those photos first!

I won't get into how awful it feels waiting for this oil slick to lap up on our beaches so I'll post something funny I saw when Mal and I were enjoying the scenery yesterday. It was sad being out there but somehow I found something ridiculous to laugh about.

I'm so lonely, I need a man. A REAL man.

I know there's one out there...somewhere.

Ooooo...he's cute.

Well, hello there.

Um hello?... Ugh...nevermind.

All men are alike. They bore me *yawn*

What were you just looking at?

What were you looking at hu? Can't even look me in the eye can you?

Jerk.

Want another look? Hu? Do you? Yes they are real...and they're FABULOUS!

Yep, they're all the same...

I have officially lost it.

Oh, my Week In the Life...

STILL working on Week In the Life.
Getting these photos together and edited is harder than I thought. I'm sure I've chosen WAY too many but I can't help it. They all tell the story : )

Week In the Life Fri~Sun

I'm starting to think I REALLY should have started Week In the Life earlier than I did. Most certainly NOT a typical week in our house.

-Friday-

Oh yes, more Toaster Strudel art. Do you think she got the hint and moved a little faster?
Nope.

Daddy got to walk Mal into school Friday morning. She was excited!

Most important items to pack for the girls.

I LOVE listening to the IPod on long car trips. I do NOT love the ridiculous gizmo we bought to listen to the IPod on long car trips. We both came close to throwing that adapter onto the interstate.

After dinner at our destination, we got to sit around the fire and chat with our friends.
SO nice after the long drive.

-Saturday-

9:30am...time to start tailgating of course.

Saw LOTS of interesting things as usual...this being one of the more tame sights.

Uncle Jimmy played one of the songs about OUR city! We were SO excited (it's a rather obscure song) to hear it and even more excited to see our fishing pier in the background!

The floorboard of the car on the ride from the show.
All of those things came off of a guy by the way...

-Sunday-

It occurred to me on the drive home that, this weekend, our Jimmy Buffett weekend, is the ONLY time you'll ever catch me with just one pair of mangy flip flops.

The wildflowers lining the interstate on the way there and back were GORGEOUS!

Beautiful tree on one of our driving breaks.

I thought this looked like a brushstroke God might make.

A sure sign we'll be home soon...

The best signs that we ARE home...

Time to start choosing and editing photos. SO many photos to narrow down. My goal is to keep it simple... something I'm not very good at, BUT I am going to try.

Have a wonderful Wednesday!
