Spring

I am LOVING SPRING!

The weather, the scenery, the fresh air blowing through the house...heaven. I've been enjoying walking into the backyard with a pair of scissors and clipping a few pretties to bring inside. I've been enjoying being able to hear the girls laughing and playing in the sunshine. I've been enjoying my feathered friends outside singing...and singing...and singing. We are taking it all in while we can...and loving it.

Isn't this Wisteria incredible?! I saw this while driving the other day and just had to turn the car around to snap a photo. I don't know if I've ever seen so much in one spot before. One day when we are living in our dream home, I want to have a pergola in the backyard covered in it.

Ha! All you have to do is say *dream home* and your mind starts spinning doesn't it? Visions of rooms, furniture, flooring, outdoor spaces, etc.  I've started clipping photos out of magazines and catalogs just for fun...so funny how satisfying that is!
For as long as I can remember, I have wanted a black and white checkered kitchen floor. As my tastes have changed over the years, the desire for that floor has not...and I don't think it ever will.
Ahhh, beautiful dream house...one day.

We are hoping to start freshening up our house soon, and I'm SO excited. Repainting the outside, the kitchen (and HOPEFULLY cabinets), the living room...ooooo I'm all tingly just thinking about it! We hope to get going on it all before the choking humidity gets here. Paint + humidity = Dianna cursing.

I've been itching to paint SOMETHING but unfortunately down here we are having our annual pollen issue...it floats through the air leaving everything covered with a layer of the powdery yellow stuff {not to mention, torturing anyone with allergies}. Ick.

Rather than fight it, I will play along.

I believe I will be spray painting this little guy a sun-shiny shade of yellow tomorrow.

I'm thinking about...

...the great time Hubby and I had in NYC.
Thinking it was too short but SO fun. Thinking that it was too darn cold and what a blast we'll have one day when we go back and we don't have to wear 14 layers of clothes.
Thinking I'm pretty stinking lucky.

...taking photos in Colorado. Thinking I should have taken more. Thinking I NEED to go back. Thinking we ALL need to go back.

...one of the most wonderful days ever.
Thinking about how beautiful my girls looked and how insanely handsome my Nephew was. Thinking about how sad I was that my Sister couldn't come.

...my family in Colorado and how much I love and miss all of them.
Thinking my cousin had the best wedding ever.

...those beautiful Aspen trees.
Thinking I would spend my life taking photos of them if I lived there.

...my best friend and her family.
Thinking about our perfect summer. Thinking we need to do it again very soon. Thinking it's going to be even BETTER next time because Hubby will be able to stay.
Thinking about how much I dearly love her whole family.

...this little guy.
Thinking about visiting them all. Thinking that I miss his Mama so very badly.

...my family.
Thinking about BOTH sides of my family. Thinking I am pretty blessed.

...summer!
...and watermelon.
Lots and lots of watermelon.

Hope everyone has a beautiful Easter!

I have been on the lookout for curtains for my living room for well over a year now. I’m starting to get a teeny weenie itty bitty bit irritated. I cannot find what I want and I cannot finish giving the living room a face lift until I find them. I have gone to every store in town and I have been on this blasted computer an insane amount of hours looking. I have also been looking at drapery fabric in much the same way…and that too is turning me into an insane crazy person. It will not take much at this point for me to blast some freaking cans of Krylon on my current curtains and be done with it.

This Serafina fabric from Pottery Barn is my favorite so far, but at $30 a yard, I don’t think I can do it. I can’t see myself smiling at a $400 pair of curtains you know? (it’s a pretty big window : / ) My friend Molly has the shower curtain PB made in this fabric and it is gorgeous in person. I really kind of love the fabric honestly but I know it’s not practical. ( I still loooove it anyway. )

I did find a fabric that was similar and ordered a few swatches. I got an opportunity to see a roll of it in person this past weekend and I was underwhelmed. The colors were a little off from what I wanted… and I don’t know. My friend Tina and I feel like, well, that it’s a little *creepy* somehow. Like Wonderland-acid-trippyish creepy. Did I mention yet that it’s $13 dollars a yard? There is a slight chance I could overlook the ‘shroom kool-aid affect for that price.

Tin foil is becoming an attractive option. It goes with everything and I have the supplies needed on hand. I wonder if it would make the house hot? Or make it smell like a baked potato.

If anyone feels like asking me to a Homecoming dance, I want to wear this .
*sigh*

My alma mater is having theirs next month...I might just show up.
