Rockin' Quote!

"A strong positive mental attitude will create more MIRACLES than any wonder drug."

-Patricia Neal

From now on, no more negative words or thoughts... (ok... so it will be my mantra for a while..."no more negative words or thoughts, no more negative words or thoughts,....)We all could use a few more miracles in our lives.

It's hUmp day-day 11! Whew-I'm doing it...well sort of. I'm having a hard time creating balance. I'm having to take this creative time for myself so late at night that I'm a zombie during the day and creative thoughts turn to mush sometimes. I have an almost 21 month old and I just can't get any of my paint, pens, or papers out while she is around...she is quite curious and gets into everything (all of the "books" use the very kind word spirited...she's nuts really:) I need to figure out this balance thing so I can make sure I'm not giving anyone (including me) any "scraps".

I went to the book store to pick up a scrapbooking magazine (mostly for creative ideas and motivation, I'm not a scrapbooker really...not yet anyway:) and here's my question: Which one should I get-I want to get a subscription but I need an opinion from all of you pros out there as to which one is best-there are soooo many! Any advice would be appreciated-THANKS!

Turns out I'm a dork and Rhonna's stuff is everywhere ( I bought the Flourishes stamps that I LOVE!!! Been loving all of the pages everyone has made using them :) I always have the kids with me and I tend to walk around in a blur of snacks and whining and craziness which keeps me from getting to look at things.

Promised myself I would get to bed early-crazy day today with a late soccer game.

I spoke with a dear friend from high school the other day and he said, "Holy cow, you're a soccer Mom!"... Holy cow...I am

Spirited...I like that! LOL! I think that I have one of those coming...she is 4 months now so is still somewhat contained in her own little space.

Rhonna doesn't do the Bohemia line, but she does have gorgeous papers out with Autumn Leaves. She also has a new book coming out with them this winter. She is one talented lady and all of her products reflect that...such beautiful designs.

For a starting magazine, I would suggest Simple Scrapbooks. Great ideas that are pretty simple to start with...

You are doing so great with the challenge! smiles...

If Mallory is nuts, then so is Aiden!! They are perfect together! Just this morning I was making breakfast and called the boys in only to find Aiden missing. He was in the bathroom playing in the toilet with the toilet brush and water and toilet paper everywhere! NOT how I like to start my day. I'd like the advice on the scapbook magazine too. I need something to give me more ideas, both on that and card making. Drew and I are getting into that. You should see some of the awesome cards Drew has done!

Oh, the balance is such a killer. Don't have a little one yet, but I do stay up way too late when I get going with making something.
I started getting back into scrapping and mainly altering things a little over a year ago and was so frustrated and overwhelmed, so much product out there, and where to begin. I found Big Picture Scrapbooking. They offer online courses. I signed up for Heidi Swapp's year long class, which will be over this December, and am so glad I did. Also did a class with Tena Sprenger, she is wonderful and inspiring too. They do offer digital classes as well. I think one is starting soon. One thing about inspiration and ideas that Heidi is talking about with us now in class is to find it everwhere, but to really look for it. Go to the store, but not to shop, to get ideas of what colors or designs are really in (bring a notebook with you, even a camera if you can). And get catalogs too and focus on how they took the pictures, the colors, the details. Your work is beautiful as well as your pictures. So glad you're doing the challenge. You are doing great!
