"Mom, what is that?"
"It's my journal Hon."
"What's a journal?"
"Well, it's a special book, just for you. You can write down thoughts, draw pictures, or even stick in photos if you want to. Just a tiny place to jot down your dreams, color a picture, or just be silly-whatever makes you happy."
"Oh, {lots of contemplative thinking.....}could I have a journal?"
She started her journal right away. Hubby has worked late the last two nights so we've had some really good quality 1 on 1 time {precious time to me} after Mallory goes down. We like sitting on the comfy couch and arranging all of the nesting tables all around with all of our supplies. We ask each other's opinions on which

papers to use, what color marker would look best, and what we should write about (and if I'm lucky, she'll tell me about her day without using one word answers). Hopefully we can make this a ritual... Wow-another
out of this challenge :) *!*Mallory is getting her creative time too-hey, dress up and crayons...does it get any better? :)

Awesome. You should post some pictures of Delaney's journal. She would love that and I'd love to see it.
Mallory looks too cute in her dress up clothes standing at the easel.
DLN...Awe...the little artistic genius emerges :)....our handicaps hold advantages......our weakness can be our strength.
God shows the way that we do not see....wait and watch...
You are ALL doing so GREAT!!

DELANEY--you did such a beautiful job on your journal pages!! Keep up the great work!! You'll be an artist like your mom!
I think it is awesome that your daughter is creating her own journal pages! I can see a budding artist starting to develop.
