SLACKING....

Wow...time sure gets away from me. Days are either too lllooonnnggg or way too short~on top of my sheer absent mindedness, someone came up with this WONDERFUL idea of daylight savings time to screw up us already *challenged* folks...jeez!

I tell myself that if I keep up with this blog, I will somehow feel a tad more accomplished everyday. But NOW I let days go by and my mind is all jumbled with prior days events and I don't know where to start. Oh well...

On Saturday Hubby and Delaney ran in the annual Pumpkin Run at school. She did great again...she never fails to amaze me with her stamina. I love that she and her Daddy have this *thing* that they can do together. They have run together in about 8 5ks~ she has finished 2nd in her age group and 1st (usually always in the top 10) ...I'm just so proud of that kid*!*

We played hookie from housework on Sun. and went to the Annual Arts Festival here in town~it was just way too beautiful of a day to waste sweeping up dog hair and scrubbing toilets. They have a lot of (messy) activities for the kids every year and of course a lot of beautiful things to look at. The music, the artsy people (who by the way will still wear very stylish scarves in 78 degree weather~love it*!*), the beautiful work everywhere...I just want to absorb every bit. There is never enough time to take it all in (especially with the kids). I am always in awe of these people that travel from thousands of miles away to festivals all over the place to share their work-yikes the unpacking, set-up, and repacking...a true labor of love. It kills me how people will walk past a booth, and with absolutely NO regard for the artist who is usually not far away will say something like, "My kid could do that!" or "Look how much they're asking for that mess!"....OOOOOOhhh...it just boils my blood! On the other hand, I love seeing an artist light up and go into detail when asked a question about how they achieved that wonderful iridescent sheen on their pottery or where they got their inspiration for that etching. Going to those festivals really gets your creative wheels turning...truly inspiring*!*

Right on the square in historic downtown (where the festival was) sits this house. It was designed and built by my Great-Grandfather...makes me feel kind of proud just looking at it:) A woman saw me taking this photo and told me that during the haunted tours downtown a few weeks ago, her camera photographed an orb in front of the house...hmmmm, maybe Great Grandpa Willis!?! Don't know whether I'm intrigued or freaked out at the thought.

I'm thinking about entering a photo I took a few weeks ago in the 2 Peas in a Bucket photo challenge this week. I've never entered anything there so I'm a little excited (and nervous). Don't know untill you try I guess...
I need to learn how to do this *link* thing (I would add it to the 2 Peas reference)...apparently I did the tag thing wrong because I was supposed to include a link to everyone's sites. I need to check that out...

I'll get this thing figured out yet!........hopefully!

Sounds like the perfect fall weekend, don't you just love those??? That is so awesome that your great grandfather built that house. I'm assuming I never met him right??

Any YAY for Delaney (and Preston) on the run. Drew and Todd are doing the Turkey Run on Thanksgiving morning so it will be Drew's first 5K. Can't wait to see how he does.

9 more days till we see each other. The wait is killing me!! We are going to have so much fun.
