Aww....look at that sweet puppy. That's our Annie. She had surgery today and I'm missing her like crazy. She'll stay at the vet's until Monday so she'll have time to heal without too much excitement...I really can't stand that we won't be with her but she'll be where they can take good care of her and tend to her better than we could post-op.
She's the best d*mn dog ever. She took great care of us girls and was a wonderful security guard when Hubby was out of town for work (which was a huge chunk of the summer). She checks on the girls several times while they're sleeping every night to make sure they are ok. She knew when I was in labor before I did when I was pregnant with Mallory. She is a sweet nurse when any one of us is sick, rarely leaving our sides. And she knows when you are sad...she is such a comfort. I love that dog and can't wait to see her.
Hubby and I are leaving in the morning to head south for a concert....and it's gonna be huge!
I can freaking hardly believe it...I am SO excited*!* BIGGEST concert to date for me. The set-up for this show is amazing...they allow cameras so I hope to get some shots. Did I say that I was excited yet?!?
We have a LONG drive ahead of us so instead of bringing all of the usual mess I tend to pack up front, I'm bringing 3 things for my *to do* bag. I'm bringing my IPod, my sketchbook, and my crocheting. My Grandma Jeanne taught me to crochet when I was about 9 yrs old and I tried to pick it back up before Delaney was born (9 yrs ago). Wellllllll...I WAS going to make a blanket but as you can see, it's more like a scarf...a really REALLY stiff scarf. (but not bad I guess for, at that point, not doing it for 16 years)
The ONLY thing I was taught about crocheting is one stitch, if that's what you even call it. (See, I know NOTHING) This was obviously done too tightly, with the wrong yarn, AND the wrong sized hook. I promise you, this thing is so stiff that it darn near stands up on its own.
Well, I bought some new, soft yarn, a larger hook (after attempting with a smaller one), and have played around with some new stitches (again, not sure what you really call it) that I made up (but they could be real ones, I have no idea) and I think I know what I need to do. (that example up there was playing with 2 different hooks and 4 different stitches I have since pulled it apart and and started over...again, I know nothing here I assure you)
Sooooo if anyone needs, say,.... a scarf....or a potholder.....or a trivet....or washcloth....or you know, anything square or rectangular-ish that doesn't require a buttonhole or anything, I'm your gal.
One last picture because they were killing me with sisterly-cuteness:
A few minutes later Mallory scratched her big Sis across the face and made her bleed...but the photo is adorable isn't it?
Have a great weekend all*!*

LOVE that last picture but your comment cracked me up. Isn't that how siblings are though??
Have a blast. Sorry I couldn't chat much this morning. Had to work the book fair for the preschoolers. I love U2, I'm sure they put on an awesome concert. Drive safely!
I am so jealous!! Have fun at the concert, hope Annie is Ok and love that picture so so funny too that sibling bliss inevitably turns into war LOL
Hope the concert was good-and you enjoyed your break from real life. That sister pic is perfect...

Hey, I went to the same concert (different locations)! The parking nearly made us cry and go home, but we were glad we stuck it out.
Hope Annie is running around like crazy now. It's hard to leave them when they can't tell you how they feel.
Love the sis photo. I think I know that same crochet stitch. The only one I know too.
