I spent this glorious spring day cleaning and reorganizing my pantry. Yep. It is as exciting as it sounds I assure you. I have to be honest, once I started seeing progress, I got...well...dare I say, excited. About cleaning. I'm not still sick either. Really.
Get this, my Mom called after I had already started and asked if she could stop by. My Mom is the Queen of Organizing...I raised my eyes to the heavens and said a little thank you prayer to the Patron Saint of Pathetic Housewives for my good fortune. My wonderful Mommy always keeps me on track : )
My pantry is pretty big and the amount of obscure things that find their way in there is slightly nuts. There was an unopened box from our move...3 and a half years ago. What's more fun? The box contained the contents of both of our former junk drawers. Oh yes. It was interesting. A normal person {My Hubby for instance} would say, "If we haven't used it, then we don't need it." Of course that makes sense but NOOOO I have to go through it. Such a pain. My reward to myself for getting the pantry done is painting and starting on the plate wall. I am SO ready to start!
Yet more reminders to me that time is scooting by:
Mallory decided it was time to pass her Little People, and all of their play sets, on to her younger cousins. Those darn Little People have been with us for almost 10 years. They were like 28 tiny plastic no-maintenance children to me. I will miss tripping over and stepping on them while cursing in pain.
Really. I will.
The day she stops dressing up and tending to her babies will be a sad sad day.
And this one...
This one I can't stop staring at. I see more and more *young lady* every day. She is absolutely stunning...and I dig her beauty mark ; )
Days turn into months, and months into years. I've got to soak up every second. Speaking of which, is anyone else getting ready for Ali's Week In The Life? She always does a flawless, neat and tidy job of keeping her journal that its almost intimidating to me...which is awful. That goes against most of what she stands for {telling your story in your own way} so I'm putting the thought out of my mind. There is NO wrong way to keep a journal so I'm going to resist the urge to go shopping, and instead, work with things I already have. Keeping up with the project and resisting buying supplies will be quite the challenge. I am up for it.
The pantry awaits...

God I love you. I thought you were going somewhere with the pantry story....like what was in those junk boxes. You and I both can't stay focused can we? :) You and I are growing old together girl. But I'm happy you started talking about those girls. That beautiful "young lady" you speak of looks just like her mom and I think her mom is beautiful too. And Miss Mal??? Noooo don't get rid of the Little People yet. I notice Aiden plays with his very rarely but I can't part with them yet.
Looking forward to week in the life with you. Taking the pictures will be no problem, making the time to do the album will be the true challende. I too will make myself use what I have on hand b/c I have too much stuff!
Cute pictures and I love getting things organized (okay, maybe not the process, but the end result!) :)
Have a great Tuesday xxx
Hope =)
This makes me a little sad that I don't have a pantry. Then I remember that I am so unorganized, and my kitchen cupboards are messy enough :)
Kids definitely grow up too fast!
Can you send your mother my way? haha I always wanted a beauty mark like that, lucky and pretty girl!! And aren't junk drawers daunting? When we move I put all of ours in a box and then we end up getting more and more junk drawer boxes that never quite make it into the new junk drawer. hmmm...
WOW. Delaney is a beauty. They do grow up so fast. I still get weepy thinking about all of the things "I" lose as they get bigger. :-( BUT, they are becoming wonderful people. It's such a bitter-sweet thing.
I need your mother's email address so I can send her my house address. I need my pantry cleaned out...
