Late much?
Ugh. ANYWAY....
With a lot of help from my MIL, I do believe we put together my favorite costumes to date!
I acted all prepared in this post like I was going to be ahead of the game this year. True, the costumes arrived 2 weeks after that post but finding the bits and parts to both costumes proved harder than I thought.
Mallory's pick was Bo Peep.
With a few additions (including a hoop skirt cut from a Scarlet O'Hara costume my MIL found and a bonnet from Grandma's Girl), we had the most adorable Bo Peep ever!
Delaney's pick was The Red Queen from the new Alice in Wonderland.
Despite not getting her sleeves adorned like I wanted to, we LOVED it!
She sure was rocking that make up and hair wasn't she?!?
Delaney loved the idea of her costume being our own interpretation ("No one will have a costume just like mine Mom!").
SUCH a fun night: )
This was toward the end of our night.
Mal was tired and Delaney (and I...and maybe Yia-Yia too) were still riding high from a compliment on Delaney's costume. We were on our way back to the house and the neighborhood was thinning out. A man who was handing out candy sitting on his front porch yelled, "Hey, Red Queen!...Best costume of the night!!!"
Delaney (and I...not gonna lie) was strutting all the way home. LOVE that!
Both girls were thrilled with their costumes and smiled from ear to ear all night. Well worth the craziness we went through in the days leading up to Halloween.
This is Mal trying to comfort Delaney before we had to brush through that tangled mess and wash out that delightful hairspray.
No kidding, if that famous Hitchcock movie needed to redo that shower scene in color, they could have done it in our tub that night. Yikes!
Great night.
Great fun.
Grateful it only comes once a year ; )

I thought that was a red wig or something! How many times did you have to wash, rinse, and repeat to clean that out? :)
Beautiful costumes.
Those costumes are the AWESOMEST!!! The fine details really show your fab creativity, Di. The girls will have wonderful memories of these costumes.
HOW in the heck did you sculpt Delaney's hair like that?? Talk about artistry! GREAT pictures, as always. LOVE this post!
Those costumes are simply amazing Dianna....your girls had to be the hit on Halloween!
Holy Ace of Hearts!!! You rock the costume category. I am WAY impressed here lady. These costumes are FABULOUSO. I thought that was a wig on Delaney's pretty, pouty head.
I bow down to you!
Wow, seriously, these costumes are off the hook!! The girls look absolutely adorable and very happy!! You are so lucky to live somewhere warm. Where I live the kids had to wear a snowsuit under their costumes, which kind of made the costume look bizarre. Example: the teenage ninja turtle looked like he had gained 30 pounds from eating way too much pizza...the princess: more like the Shrek princess. Snowsuits and costumes equals 30 pound weight gain!!! haha!
Dude where have you been? I miss you!!!
They looked adorable! A lot of effort went into those costumes but it was SO worth it!!
I hope you are doing well.
