Am I Ridiculous !*?*!

It's one of those nights...can't stop thinking ~ Delaney spent the night over at a friend's house tonight. I'm such a worrier-my brain is swirling with ridiculous thoughts of what could happen. So dumb...I work with the girl's Mom at school a couple of hours every week so I know her rather well but...I guess it's just that whole "no one can take better care of your kid than you" thing. I'm so NOT a fan of this sleep over business! I just don't want her miss anything because of her worry-wart Mother...and I don't want her to end up a worrier like me...YIKES! This is absolutely crazy but whenever I feel like I might be "holding on" to her a little too tightly, I remember the conversation between Dory and Nemo's Dad, Marlin from Finding Nemo:

Marlin: I promised I'd never let anything happen to him.

Dory: Hmm. That's a funny thing to promise.

Marlin: What?

Dory: Well you can't never let anything happen to him. Then nothing would ever happen to him.

Turns out that Dory wasn't so dim after all! Like I said-I love quotes! I've been hanging on to that one for a LONG time...and probably will continue to until they're grown and married...

That is SOOOO me. Drew and Noah have good friends that are brothers and their mom talked to me the other day about Drew and Noah spending the night in November for her boys' birthdays. I trust this mom and have known her since high school but I worry about getting enough sleep, will they eat too much junk, will they behave or get out of control, etc. I tell ya, this parenting stuff isn't for the faint hearted!

I never liked sleepovers either. The boys didn't do much of it until they were older-and then I worried less. BUT in Nate's case-I should have worried MORE>oh, the stories there. Kelly did more-and when younger always came home exhausted and ran a fever the next day. I am glad those little kid days are over.
