Ooooooopa*!*

This weekend....The Greek Festival. Yummy, yummy, yum yum yum*!* I didn't eat much all that morning to prepare myself...and boy was it worth it. Soooo good! I'm a huge fan of Greek food~NOT a huge fan of Greek desserts....so I eat enough at a sitting to make up for not having dessert. Don't snicker, you're just jealous. And to make you even more so, here's the menu you missed...jeez I'm mean! :)
I'm a huge fan of Greek men too...well, actually, just one. The one I married~my Hubby*!* When I met him, this whole Greek thing was so intimidating to me. Me, I'm mutt~ some German, some Scottish, some something-or-other else~ nothing that my family had held on to as a culture or anything that had any traditions attached. Let me tell ya, this Greek thing has tradition and symbolism attached to everything...and I LOVE it. I'm trying to learn how to cook this and what's proper to do for that...there's a lot to learn. My Mother-in-Law is teaching me what I need to know, everything she was taught. So cool to think how many generations all of this important information has been passes down to...and I hope I, as a mutt, can do it justice for my girls.

Hubby and the girls had fun dancing of course (can't go to the Greek Fest and not do some dancing). Delaney caught on pretty quick...I could see her Daddy beaming. He's proud he's Greek (heck, he'll tell you with pride in his voice that he wore the whole costume when he was in the dancing troop~skirt, tights, and all!)I know he's proud his girls are too. All of those little old Greek women just love him ~ he can't walk to get in the line for food without a handful of them kissing him and grabbing his face in both hands...soo cute. The little old ladies weren't sure about me at first, there is some word in Greek that means "white girl" that I would hear muttered sometimes...apparently some of them had betrothed their granddaughters to him (in their own minds of course). For a long time after we were married I would get pulled aside and told with no uncertainty (and with quite thick Greek accents) what a good boy he was and how lucky I was...

I already knew :)

D...Well Kiddo, I think you are getting the best of both worlds...you were filtered the best genes around....then you get to have Greek children!! Anyway, nowadays being a Mutt is pretty high class....they are called Designer Dogs or Hybrids....pretty classy if you ask me. L E&A DOA
