#1- a healthy baby
#2- that the baby would be a boy to round out our family (trust me, we tried all of those "timing with your cycle" tips to help gain advantage in the boy department...ha!)
#3- that the baby not be born in December-I myself am a Christmas
baby and just didn't want my little one to have to deal with it
too. (Yes, we did the math...it just took almost a year to get
prego with #1 so we figured it would take a while to get prego again....ha ha!)
As for the other two...Well, of course we had a beautiful girl...two days after Christmas. The Man Upstairs most certainly has a sense of humor, and hey, I guess we need to be reminded of WHO is in charge every once in a while. We wouldn't change what we've got for anything...H
e knows what He's doing for sure. (Besides...I wouldn't know what the heck to do with a boy anyway :)
So, the night before last I put a one year old in bed
, and yesterday morning, I picked a two year old out of bed.
She's such a happy, mischievous little bugger our Mallory. NEVER a dull moment for sure (think Tasmanian Devil...) She makes me a nervous wreck (I didn't think it was possible to worry any more than I do) and keeps me on my toes without a doubt. She is honestly the fu
nniest little girl I have ever met; a natural comedian. The stuff that kid says and the looks she gives rival that of a teenager~you'd have to see it to believe it (I ought to have that kid on TV)! She has such good manners and says "please" and "thank you" and even "bless you" when you sneeze... right before Thanksgiving she said "I love you Mommy" without me saying it first, totally unprompted...melted my heart. Speaking of talking, boy
can she! In Oct. (when my niece was with us) at a Dr.s appt, the Dr. mentioned that she should be putting two or three word sentences together...as if on cue, she says,"Oh no Mommy, baby Sarah dropped her paci(fier)!" The Dr. looked at her, then looked at me and said, "No problems there I see." No, no problems there...
I'm just babbling now but, jeez I love that kid! She is my beautiful, beautiful mess and we are so blessed to have TWO wonderful girls. Our family is complete and we wouldn't have it any other way:)
On a Christmas note...
Santa Yia-Yia and PaPou brought the girls a swing set!
We finally have a back yard big enough for one and the girls are always asking to go to the park...now the park is in our backyard!
Four huge, heavy boxes...yikes! Today, PaPou enlisted the help of some elves (two teenagers from the neighborhood) to help Hubby with the assembly. It took 7 hours and was done in plenty of time for the girls to play on it before dark. Delaney has a fever and Mallory a cold but there was no way I could keep them from a little fun...they stared out the window all day watching their Christmas present slowly take shape.
No photo for 12:15~I was slaving away making lunch for 3 hard working, starving boys. Only the best for them...my children's safety depended on them being nourished, alert, and at peak performance.
I ordered pizza...
1:15pm
2:15pm
3:15pm
Delaney can stand it no longer and HAS to at least go down the "most funnest slide ever!"
3:30pm
The Birthday girl is up from her nap and both girls are ready (whether Daddy is or not)to PLAY!
4:30pm
After an hour of hard swing-setting, the girls slow down for their first snack on their new Christmas gift...I think I know what I'll be doing the next few days!
Happy Birthday my little Mallory~keep those adventures coming*!*
I love you,
yes I do.
A bushel and a peck
and a hug around the neck!
Hope everyone had a great Christmas out there in Blogland!

Happy Birthday Miss Mal!! Wish we could be there to celebrate with you. LOVE, LOVE that new swingset. The girls will have many adventures with that over the years. Hope Delaney is feeling better. Seems like kids always get sick after the holidays.
Your description of Mallory cracks me up. I think her and Aiden are made for each other. Think we could get away with the whole arranged marriage thing??
Ah...the December birthday-nothing like it to keep you on your toes.Hope Mallory had a fun day. I LOVE that swing set-and I am sure Preston LOVED putting it all together!
Dianna,
You are way too TECH KNOW for me!
WOW...your blog is fabulous! I love reading about you and the music is grand.
School starts tomorrow for the two kids...Tom and Jordan. We partied too much and now no one wants to hit reality.
Hugs, Sara Lepper
