What a weekend...

What a great weekend~happy, fun girl time. Gotta love that!

We left at around three and got in Atlanta late. The girls could hardly sleep (me either...I don't sleep well anywhere but my own bed). We made it to the American Girl Store about a half an hour after they opened...

This is Lily.

She has been with us for 7 years...as you can see, she is a well- loved member of our family. She came along for the trip of course...Delaney has not missed a night sleeping with her for years and since she is a Bitty Baby American Girl Doll, it was a must!

ALL of the girls were ready to get up, have some breakfast, and get going!

Delaney's face was priceless as we walked through the store, I will never forget that look on her face. She honestly couldn't believe what she was seeing. The dolls, the displays,...I was pretty excited too :) Lily, the social butterfly she is, wasted no time making friends...
...and making herself at home.
They have a doll hair salon there so my niece made a hair appointment for her doll. Now, Lily obviously has no hair but they do offer to clean your baby and put a sweet little bow on their head...Delaney was NOT having it. I'm sure you've noticed Lily's little winking issue. Well, The American Girl Store also offers hospital services, so (a few months ago) we looked into getting Lily's eye fixed...turns out they would have to replace her WHOLE head. That totally freaked Delaney out and I think that she was just afraid of what they would do with her doll if she turned her over. Doesn't my girl look totally freaked?!? Lily thought it was all a little suspicious too...

Miley's (my niece's doll) hair was done and it was time for lunch at the Bistro...what a neat experience that was! When you walk in they ask how many in your party and how many dolls will be eating also. They give you these cute little baby seats that clip onto the table so the girls can sit right next to their dolls. We ate at the counter~Delaney was thrilled about that~and menues were brought to us...and the dolls.

The whole thing was adorable...there were cookie cutter napkin rings...

...even the stinking light fixtures were precious!

That is the ceiling over the bar...I LOVE it!

Yia-Yia told Delaney that she would get her another doll, and she was thrilled. D. picked it out and then we were called to lunch~she was a little bummed that her new doll wouldn't be able to eat lunch with us. Sooooo, in true Yia-Yia fashion, she tip toed off to buy the doll, took it out of the box, and gave it to her all before the food arrived. The look on her face says it all!

...of course she joined us at the counter right away.
The food was sooo yummy and we stuffed ourselves in an unlady-like fashion...but not so much that we couldn't walk the mall!
The girls (of course) wanted to put new duds on their dolls before we ventured out into the HUGE mall so out to the car we went to unload some bags and give the dolls some privacy.

...and take a few more pictures :)

Before long it was dinnertime and we were lucky enough to get in the Bistro again. More good food, more giggles, and more fun.

They think of everything! This is the bathroom...complete with a safe, dry, non germish (hopefully) place to put your doll while you do your business....and I took a picture of it...............in the stall.......................of the bathroom.......yeah that's a little weird.

That's dessert.......
We didn't mean to order all of it...but it sure was GOOD! I'm not kidding when I say that my stomach still hurts a little bit (but I'd do it again :).

We went to IKEA the next day...and I didn't take ANY pictures! What the heck was wrong with me? If you've ever been there, in my defense...there is just TOO MUCH STUFF TO LOOK AT right?! It is just so overwhelming and wonderful! Saturday was girl's day~Sunday was ours! That place is awesome...and I can't wait to go back!

What fun~we had such a great time.

Girl Weekends Rock!

One last photo. This was the traffic jam we were in for a little over an hour on the way home...this was AFTER the tornado warning...yikes! We had such a wonderful weekend, it didn't spoil a thing :)
THANKS A TON YIA-YIA~WE'LL NEVER FORGET IT*!*
For some reason, since we've been back I've felt like a bit of a zombie...don't know why, it was quite a relaxing, non-stressful weekend. I had BIG plans to catch up on some things tonight but I have a date with a pillow...it's 11:00pm (I downloaded the photos earlier this afternoon)...woo hoo~early night for me!
GOOD NIGHT ALL*!*

Ohhh...I was thinking of taking my daughter to the Chicago American Girl store and restuarant! I think she would love it, and your photos pretty much sealed the deal for me. Since we're not too close to Chicago, we'll have to plan it all out.

Talk about cool, I love the light fixtures!

I'm bummed you didn't take any IKEA pics for me....I've been dying to see that place! Rest up girl, it's back to the real world.

Oh the weekend looked wonderful, and thank goodness I am viewing these photos without my daughter near by. She loves American Girl! I know someday I really should take her to the one in Chicago, it is quite the experience, and from seeing your trip, it is a must.

I was so looking forward to seeing Lilly with her new shiney eye........so sad. Although I agree, I wouldn't want Sarah's head replaced either, so I'm with Dee Dee on that! Love you! So what's the new baby's name?

Love, Aunt BJ
