Barbie Bites

Well, whatever....

So apparently the *miracle* didn't happen inside my toaster... It happened in the freezer aisle.

Friday was the first official day of summer. These things are summer to me:

NEVER wearing shoes, unless you have to.

I wasn't going to buy them but Hubby said, "Do you ever remember a summer without these?"

I caved.

The hose is always good for a giggle.

We tried.

They took the Bar-B-Q and beer....we got no bucks. We aren't inviting family over
any.
more.

Ahhh, the pool.

Too d*mn hot around here not to take a dip every once and a while.

A flashback...My Big Bro, Kel, and I...gotta love an uncomfortably warm plastic pool (my bro didn't know about the bucket). My fondest summer memories for sure*!*

I got tagged by the lovely Miss RobinDiane so here goes:

Ten Years Ago: I was newly married and didn't have a clue...

Five things on today's to do list:
(I'll list the five things I did do as apposed to the 5 things I should have done)
1) picked watermelons
2) nothing
3) nothing
4) ate watermelon
5) nothing

Snacks I enjoy: Hot Tamales, smores, Chex mix, Tin Roof ice cream, chocolate at certain times of the month, candy in general

Things I would do if I were a millionaire: any d*mn thing I want without worry.

Places I have lived: My very soggy hometown Quincy, IL and FL

**And well, I think whoever started this tag needs me to add a little somethin' somethin', SOOOOO...I've added a few things (tee hee hee)**

Most embarrassing moment: On my FIRST day of college, we were each asked to read a paragraph from a book (for speech class...a novel first exercise don't you think?...sheesh). My paragraph contained the word "organism"...but that ISN'T the word that came out of my mouth... the word I said was one syllable short of that word (take out the "ni"). That is pitiful, but that is my most embarrassing moment. I am boring.

Regrets? : Yep

Left brained or right brained : Totally right...there is an echoing cavern where my left should be.

Who I miss : Grandma Jeanne~who my creativity came from

Strangest place I've gone to the bathroom : In "the bucket" (this will explain Kel's comment on the pool photo). Kelly and I knew if it was close to dinnertime, going inside to use the bathroom was a sure way to get stuck setting the table and staying in. We used to tee tee in a bucket outside to avoid this horrible injustice.

Well, there you go...be sure to join in and post if you play.
Like a bad Wife, I didn't give a shout out to the Hubby for Father's Day. I promise he is the best Daddy to our girls and an
awesome Hubby to boot. An example of his awesome Hubby-ness, he went to a bachelor party last night,{uh hu...} and before he left, he ran to the store for me and got these:

Sorry Ladies, he's taken...
love you babe*!*

Love the bucket story! Same kind of thing happened around my house 'cause no one wanted to get stuck doing chores. Of course, it annoys me to no end now that I am the mom.

That my friend is an awesome husband. Mine buys me chocolate every month. Smart man.

The Barbie waffles? Scare the crap out of me.

I think you've just convinced me to buy the popsicle sticks. Mmmm. Summer!

I think you must have been high on sugar, caffeine and cramps when you wrote that. Girl you always crack me up. And why did you have to mention the bucket?? How embarrassing.

That picture made me miss you and all of our awesome summer memories. We've had some awesome "dancing before it storms" weather lately!

Thanks for playing girl! The bucket story cracked me up as did the college story!!! And your DH is good cuz my DH wouldn't do that for me unless I was totally knocked out.

I always tell my son that a real man isn't too proud to buy his woman feminine products. Looks like you've got a winner!

You are so funny! And just my type of humor too! I like the wry, in your face, let's just go ahead and say what we think kind of humor. (You get to use it liberally when you're in menopause, as I am, just...because...!)

What a fun way to start the day. I wanna go to the gulf. You'll just have to go for me.

Flip Flops are out here too! ah...

You had Barbie, we here had Spongebob, but for some reason, printed pictures on waffles doesn't quite seem right. LOL Or the fact that they have more then one photo on the waffles in the package, and your child only wants the one with Patrick on it. Nowadays, we kinda stick to the blueberry ones. Or should I say the shopper in this house only buys the blueberry ones. LOL

Hah, hubby wouldn't dare by any of those for me. He hates diet coke, hot tamales, and I'm on my own for feminine protection.

I love flip flops, the only shoe for me in the summer. Wore em all weekend camping and now have so many darn mosquito bites my work shoes are killing me!

Yeah those Otter Pop things are the best as kids. We had the pedialyte ones in our freezer from a recent bout with the stomach bug. The kids got better, but still begged for more. I gave in and let them eat em all. Definitely need to buy the cheap ones!

Believe me, my DH has never bought those feminine things for me.

I love your to do list!

I have sat here and cried for about two hours straight.

I will be 'visited' tomorrow, I can almost guarantee.

Be blessed.

There is nothing more summery than eating freezies and popsicles.

No wait, repeatedly being asked if they can have a popsicle is more summery. And taking forgotten popsicle sticks away from the dogs before they choke.

Oh, and picking up the little snipped off ends of the freezies from kitchen floor.

You are the most hilarious thing in the world!

Love that warm pool story...I have been in a few warm pools myself! UGH!

Gotta have flip flops all year long in Florida, of course, it's tradition, I think!

My kids(teenagers now) still love those pops...they say they are their favorite popsicle. Hey they are cheap, too, so I get them!!

What a good hubby to get the Tampax for his wifey!!! what a guy! Brownie points for him!! Here, my DH would buy that for me, but now I am devoid of the "proper plumbing" for such monthly crud, so I say...get a hystersctomy as soon as you can, girls! It is wonderful not having to plan your life around "that time of the month" Yipee!! :)
