I've always loved everything 50's. The clothes, the make up, the furniture, the graphics, the style in general. I've always thought that living back then would have just been the cat's whiskers. And, these ads PROVE that I should have:

No they are not.
They can just eat whatever they want, wear whatever they want, and get whatever they want.
I have to WORK at those things...it's character building.

Holy cr*p...I am actually an AFTER shot.
I'm printing out this one.

Keep that *wonder drug* the h*ll away from me*!*
I'd like to crush about 20 of these up and put them in
Angelina Jolie's air and water smoothie.

"I wonder how she did it?".....
Are you kidding me? It's called EATING sweetie.
I think my Hubby's Great Yia~Yia Panos could have taken care of your "problem" in a weekend.

Well, those years of the HEALTHY framed girl ended with this doe-eyed beauty. And I have a message for her:

The Greek girl that I kissed is probably the black sheep of her family. She resembles the last girl more than any of the others.
And yes, I am awesome!:)
Amen Sister your preaching to the choir! You know that if Marilyn Monrow was alive today she would be too fat to be a movie star!
I love your old ads and thanks for sharing them and making me feel that I really don't need to lose that 20 pounds. Now I won't feel quilty tonight when I go to Paula Deen's new buffett at the casino in Tunica!
I was so born in the wrong decade. I have some fat on my hips and butt that skinny girl in the last photo can have.
People always asked me if I thought I was born in the wrong decade. I'm such an old-fashioned girl and I LOVE the 50's too! Love them!
Unfortunately I always looked like the flat-chested skinny girl (read-boy) in high school so I probably wouldn't have fit in very well. Now? Well that's a different story. :)
I'm pretty small, but those super thin girls, UGH!
Now if there were something for my "mosquito bites" that wouldn't cause all the fat to congregate on my rear and belly... well then I'd be all over it. Maybe they made something to push the belly fat up and make it look like boobies?
The Fit Tv channel is playing in the backgroud. I don't think I need any of those pills. LOL
Love, love that last photo and message-it needed to be said! wink
I was born in 1957. That makes me 51. I am a rather "curvy" gal. Lost 50 pounds a few years back and honey, I'm still a curvy girl. Oh, how I wish women were portrayed as we really are. And not these sticks they snap off the damned trees!

I would love to have lived then - things were so much simpler! Great ads!
Hilarious that they actually had advertisements to promote girls to put pounds ON!!! I've got some to share. Maybe I shouldn't work out so hard at karate today!! D*mn that Twiggy! Who likes skeleton arms anyway???
;)
There's hope after all!
I have always said that I have a 50's body (and almost the body of a 50 yr old)...Much more Marilyn Monroe and Jane Russell than Paris Hilton or....any other star these days. It is much easier to stand next to plump people to look thin so, Hey Dianna, come stand next to me! That is more slimming than head to toe black!
