Here are two things that have happened this weekend that are making the world feel right once again:Santa FINALLY delivered the balance beam...Poor child is SUCH a good kid and did NOT deserve to have to wait. I hate that the d*mn order got so screwed up that it was A MONTH late. The man whose fault it was is lucky I didn't haul myself and the extra 5lbs. of holiday cheer I added last month up to the warehouse to do a little tumbling on HIS *apparatus*.
The child is quite good I must say....

She tumbled, flipped, and occasionally flopped all day. The smile on her face did our hearts good...

(Are you listening to the words of this song? They're so empowering to me...)

Mallory turned 3 yrs old 2 days after Christmas. We had her party today. Don't judge me, it's just easier a month later...
We ordered the cake instead of made it this year...it was super cute even though....; )

And apparently it was tasty too...

Mallory's Yia Yia and PaPou got her this for her big day:

Her new big girl bedding! It's "Brooke" from Pottery Barn Kids...and you've never seen anything so stinking cute. Seriously, you haven't. You. Have. NOT...I promise. Doesn't it make you smile just looking at it? I'm SOOOO going to do that little branchy thing like in the photo...or something cuter even, because I SO can. I might even try to grow a birch tree in her room too if I feel like it. H*ll, I might go get some real owls to try and one-up Pottery Barn. Well....those little owl pillows are kind of cuter than real owls....and they don't poop...or swoop down at your head...or carry diseases.... Well anyway, Mallory's room is going to be EVEN cuter than that ^^^ is all I'm trying to say (I think).

(A D D alert...randomness ahead...)
When Hubby and I were told as newlyweds that things would just keep getting better, I thought people were just trying to make sure that we would stay in "the club". (You know, sort of how we tell our kids that school is going to be fun everyday so they too can experience the h*ll we did...) Well, 10 1/2 years later, I'm happy to say that they were right. We met when we were 19 & 20, got married at 23 & 24, and became parents for the first time at 25 & 26. In May, it will be 15 years that we have been together. Holy cr*p. We get so much better together every day...and I can feel it happening you know? I guess when you practically grow up together and get older, you become more attuned to each other. Don't get me wrong, he's a typical guy. (Emotions...what are those? Communicate...hu? Golf...yes please.) I'm not saying that I totally understand the boy and I KNOW he'll never claim to make sense of everything I do or say ("But Honey, I NEED more paper!") but hey, that's ok. We're alright with that. It works. We are a team and we are cohesive in the things that matter. We are good parents. We love our kids. We love each other. We make each other laugh. We wash dishes together. It works. I am so blessed...
I know that I say it all the darn time but....I have an awesome family. My friends rock too. I am blessed beyond belief. The planets will align for me soon, I know they will. I have a d*mn good support team so I can't go wrong. I'm excited for what lies ahead...it's gonna be awesome I tell you!
Here's something I found that makes me laugh my bum off. I hope it starts your week with a chuckle too:
She's so............familiar somehow...

(Sorry I'm so full of random tonight!)

I'm sooo happy Delaney finally got her balance beam. She looks adorable on it!!

Mal's cake is so cute and I'm in LOVE with the bedding. You know I'm an owl freak, as is Drew so he would like it too. Her room will be adorable. Have fun doing it!

Love the cartoon! Funny, yet kind of true!

Love ya girl, you really need to post more. Good song, I'm so excited we are both going to see him in concert....too bad we won't be together for one of them!

You are so good at taking pics. I wanna have your talent. Your girls are BEAUTIFUL.

Gotta agree. A clean house is a sign of a wasted life. I am SO NOT wasting my life.

Just looking at your dd's bed makes me happy! I want to sleep in that bed, plus I love that little owl pillow dude with the long legs, toooooo cute!! I'm glad things are all well in your world, nothing better than those floating on a cloud days. My house is disgusting right now, guess I'm not wasting my life?? haha

Your pictures ARE wonderful, I love to see the kids.

The Clean House lady? Jeeze, when I was a little kid in the early 60's, I wanted to be just like her! Wearing a housedress and Apron and reflecting on the difference between Ajax and Mr. Clean.

Today, um, yeah, right.

That's why my house is so messy!

I think the party a month later is perfectly fine. More exciting for her that way. Love the bedding!

Love Love Love the pictures! Your daughter on the balance beam are so awesome, especially the shot of her concentrating so. And your little one for her party, with the cake on her face..beautiful and great color! A very happy anniversary to you and your husband. I was 23 when my husband and I married and definitely feel I grew up with him. RYC: We could have a blast hanging out together! : )

In May, my hubby and I will celebrate our 15th anniversary. Of course, we've known each other since we were 12 (yeah, I know, just so cute...or redneck, whatever). I totally agree. Having grown up together, we just KNOW each other. We just do.

It's wild. And really warm and comfortable too.

"But Honey, I NEED more paper!"... Paper addicts - UNITE! I'm with you.

Wonderful exhibition of self control to not go off on the Grinch who messed up your Uber cool Christmas gift.

And based on that pic I am living a very fulfilled life.
