Crafty-ish Mother's Day

Holy cow...it's always nice to slow down after a crazy weekend. I usually bring some of the CRAZY on myself though.

Per my usual, I stayed up way too late making Mother's Day gifts...but I love doing it. I'm up late all by myself, listening to my music, drinking too much Diet Coke. It's pretty much my idea of a good time.

So I was partying with my Big Kick, some Sizzix Dies and felt. I'm not kidding you, it's my fun.

I really love mixing and matching the different flower shapes/colors. You would laugh if you knew how long this part takes me.

I like to pinch my leaves with some hot glue : )

I twisted some wire and adhered it with hot glue.

I didn't want the wire to show underneath so I covered it with another felt flower. I admit I only did this for one after realizing that it wouldn't show because of how many I was making. If you're standing on your head looking at it, it doesn't look as nice and neat. ; )

Add two beautiful little girls...

...some *mossy rocks* and a glass container...

Ta da!
You have a.........a um.......

...a something~or~other.

Unfortunately it got a little mussed in the car but Yia-Yia seemed to really like it  : )
(and didn't blink twice when I asked her to hold it for a photo. She knows about all of this crafty insanity ; ).

My Mom wanted a valance for her kitchen and she was having a hard time finding what she wanted. I saw these colorful napkins in Pier 1 and  knew she would like the colors because they were just what she was describing to me. (Don't you love when the perfect something *finds* you?)
The sewing machine and I haven't become friends yet so...hem tape to the rescue!

Mom likes her valences poofy so I used three napkins for the job.
She has since called me twice to tell me how much she loves them...I love that she loves them*!*

I just loved this weathered fence so I had to get a photo of my girls with it.
STILL can't believe these two beautiful creatures call me Mom : )

Hope everyone is having a wonderful week so far!

I can just see you sitting there at midnight playing with those flowers & pinching the leaves...that is ADORABLE with the pic of the girls.

CUTE valance for your mama!

Not to burden you, but I want more NOW!
