Sorry I haven't been around. The fact that our beach probably won't look like this for long, upsets me more than I can say. On this day 25 years ago, my parents packed up the station wagon and brought us all down here from Illinois. I'm embarrassed to say that it took me until last year to really start appreciating where I live. Now this. Lesson learned.
Praying for a miracle...

It is absolutely horrible. So scary and so sad. :(
I was going to make a joke about how it will never look as bad as our good ole Mississippi River. It is sad and it will change life down there in so many ways. It's also hard to believe it's been 25 years since you moved out of Hazelwood Ct. One of the saddest days of my life. I remember seeing your sad face sitting in the back of the station wagon and I cried for hours after you left. That was a long summer without my best friend.
That beach looks like paradise! I can't imagine it being marred by black oil! Please keep the pics coming because YOU can capture it so well in pictures, Di.
Ditto with the updated pics, I'm so very angry with BP. It's unthinkable.
Where do you live?
Just beautiful & such a shame! We thankfully have beaches near me in Michigan, but nothing like that. So so sad!
Sending prayers for a peaceful solution.
